The Public is advised of the following clarification on the requirements and policies for the entry of foreign nationals (FNs) in the Philippines pursuant to the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) Resolutions No. 97 and 98:
- Foreign spouses of Filipino nationals, minor children and children with special needs of Filipino nationals, as well as foreign parents of Filipino minor children and children with special needs do not need an entry exemption document prior to 9(a) visa issuance to enter the country.
It should be noted that while the aforementioned do not need an entry exemption document, applicants should present necessary proof/ documents of relationship which will be vetted carefully by the Embassy prior to issuance of any visa. The following documents may be presented to the Embassy:
- Original Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-issued Civil Registry Documents
- Barangay Certification stating that the Filipino spouse or Filipino minor children or children with special needs
The Embassy advises that the same documents must be presented to the Bureau of Immigration officials at the port upon arrival to ensure entry to the Philippines.
2. Foreign spouses of Filipino nationals who hold valid and existing Special Retirees’ Resident Visas (SRRV) must secure an entry exemption document if they are not travelling with the Filipino spouse, or if it cannot be established that the latter is currently in the country.
3. As clarified by IATF Resolution No. 100 dated 18 February 2021, holders of valid and existing 9(g) work visas may re-enter without the need of an entry exemption document.
