In view of the prevailing heat wave prevailing in Europe, the Filipino communities in the Swiss Confederation and the Principality of Liechtenstein are advised to constantly monitor and follow the advice and recommendations issued by the Swiss Federal and Cantonal authorities and the Liechtenstein government.
Announcements and recommendations of the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN), Federal Office of Meteorology and Climatology are available in their websites, i.e., MeteoSwiss (admin.ch). The public is also advised to check the updates uploaded at https://www.natural-hazards.ch/home/current-natural-hazards/heat-wave.html.
Kindly note that while the Federal authorities have provided timely information and warnings in collaboration with the Cantons, the latter are responsible for the implementation of measures. The cantonal regulations are binding. Please monitor the appropriate Cantonal advisories and recommendations.
In keeping with the Embassy’s COMPASS initiative (Community Participation in Assistance to Nationals), the Filipino Communities in Switzerland and in the Principality of Liechtenstein are encouraged to touch base with Filipinos in your environs, particularly those who fall within the purview of the “risk category”, i.e., the elderly who live alone and/or Filipinos with chronic ailments and ensure that they are well and able to follow the existing Federal and Cantonal recommendations.
The Embassy will appreciate receiving updates from the Filipino communities in this regard by sending an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
