Philippine Embassy conducts consular outreach in Basel
The Philippine Embassy in Berne was in full force for its first consular outreach for the year, the first since 2010, and the first since e-passport was implemented.
Upon the invitation of the Filipino community in Basel, in northwest Switzerland, a Philippine Embassy, Berne team headed by Ambassador Leslie J. Baja conducted a consular outreach following a mass at Bruder Klaus Catholic Church in Liestal, Basel on 17 March 2012. Full consular services were provided, including passport application and renewal, authentication of documents, dual citizenship, visa applications, and the first mobile registration for overseas absentee voting since it resumed in October 2011.
Ambassador Baja also had a dialogue with the Filipino community, during which he gave a briefing on the consular services provided by the Embassy and encouraged those present to register for the Overseas Absentee Voting in preparation for the mid-term national elections in 2013.
The Embassy was also joined by Milan-based PAG-IBIG representative, Mr. Eduardo Labo, who made a presentation on the benefits of enrolling in the PAG.IBIG program.
