PUBLIC ADVISORY

The public is warned of the illicit solicitation of funds by MR. LANCE GABRIELLE MANGAHAS purportedly for the Philippine Red Cross (PRC).

Mr. Mangahas has been misleading overseas Filipinos by making them believe that he is closely affiliated with the PRC, and has been organizing fund-raising activities supposedly for the Organization.

Pursuant to Section 9 of Republic Act 10072 (otherwise known as Philippine Red Cross Act of 2009), the use of the name Red Cross is reserved exclusively for the Philippine Red Cross. Thus, the use of the name Red Cross and the Red Cross emblem by Mr. Mangahas is in violation of the law, as the PRC has never authorized the subject to  use the Organization’s name or undertake fund-raising activities.
