Pursuant to COMELEC Resolution No. 10036 (“Guidelines for Mass Media Accreditation in Connection with the Conduct of Overseas Voting under Republic Act No. 9189, otherwise known as “The Overseas Absentee Voting Act of 2003”) as amended by Republic Act No. 10590 for Purposes of the 09 May 2016 National and Local Elections”, representatives of Filipino Community, Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) or Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) who wish to request accreditation in connection with the conduct of overseas voting are required to submit the following:
- Fully accomplished Accreditation Application Form;
- List of officers and members including their addresses and contact numbers; and
- Photocopies of valid Identification Cards/Documents of officers and members.
Application forms may be downloaded from the COMELEC website at www.comelec.gov.ph or the Department of Foreign Affairs website at www.dfa.gov.ph.
Application forms may be filed directly at the Philippine Embassy in Berne or at any Philippine foreign service post where the representative/s of the Filipino community/NGOs/CSOs wish to be accredited from 01 February 2016 to 31 March 2016.
The Philippine Embassy will issue further advice on the rules of conduct for accredited representatives before the Philippine national elections on 09 May 2016.
