12 November 2021 – Further to Announcement No. 14-2021, the Embassy wishes to invite the community leaders, Filipino expat academic and scientific communities, and the public to join Department of Science and Technology (DOS) in its 7th Balik Scientist Program (BSP) Annual Convention with the theme “BSP Talks: Tugon ng Hamon sa Panahon” on 19 November 2021 at 09:00 A.M. (PHT) via Zoom Webinar and Facebook Live.
The convention aims to showcase the collaborations forged by the program and the accomplishments of Balik Scientists and seeks to provide an avenue for a continuous exchange of ideas, challenges, experiences, and more opportunities for previous, recent, and aspiring Balik Scientists, Host Institutions, and other BSP stakeholders.
The BSP offers a package of benefits to Filipinos, or a foreigner of Filipino descent, who are experts or professionals in the field of science and technology with an outstanding contribution in his or her field of specialization, also referred to as Balik Scientists.
Under the program, a Balik Scientist shall conduct a work plan of activities, such as mentorship, lectures, and research and development, in coordination with a host institution (e.g. government institution, and public or private academic institution).
