12 May 2023 – The Philippine Embassy invites potential and interest investors, including angel investors, incubators, accelerators, and venture capitalists, to the Startup Roadshow “Round One” on Wednesday, 24 May 2023 from 10.00AM-11.30AM – Central European Summer Time (CEST).

The Startup Roadshow “Round One” is the Philippines’ first and only equity crowdfunding platform authorized by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), with a mission to enable MSMEs and startups to raise capital from the public through crowdfunding, instead of listing on the Philippine Stocks Exchange, through which many of these businesses would not be qualified to do so given their current size and capitalization. 

Round One’s platform helps democratize access for small-time investors to investment opportunities by allowing them the chance to buy shares/equity of promising companies before they scale up. It hopes to connect some of the Philippines’ local startups to potential investors overseas by fostering innovation and encouraging the growth of more startups in the country.

Five (5) local startup companies in the Philippines, namely: Tipaklong Sustainability Model, IOL, Leapedhub, Cocotel, and Burket, will present their business proposals during the roadshow. More information on them may be found in this link.
