The Embassy joins the Philippine nation in the Quincentennial commemoration event by lighting four (4) Philippine capiz Christmas lanterns located in the first and second floors of the Chancery.

13 December 2019 – The Philippine Embassy joined the Philippine nation in the launch of the 500-Day Countdown to the 2021 Quincentennial Commemoration of the first circumnavigation of the world by lighting four (4) capiz Christmas lanterns. The lanterns are located at four (4) corner rooms of the Embassy.

The Quincentennial Commemoration, with the theme “Victory and Humanity”, is spearheaded by the National Quincentennial Committee (NQC) of which the Department of Foreign Affairs is a member.
