The Philippine Embassy in Berne, in cooperation with the Philippine Catholic Mission-Switzerland, conducted an overseas field registration in Maria Lourdes Kirchliche, Seebacherplatz in Zürich last 27 July 2024.
The overseas field registration team led by Vice Consul Rowell G. Casaclang provided overseas voting services to qualified Filipino voters in the canton of Zürich as well as in neighboring cantons, Aargau, Schaffhausen, Schwyz, St. Gallen, Thurgau, and Zug. The team also provided orientation on the conduct of online voting and consultation services on Philippine citizenship during the one-day mission. There is an estimated 1,600 qualified Filipino voters in these seven cantons.
The Philippine Embassy once again calls on Filipinos, 18 years old (by 12 May 2025) and above, in Switzerland and Liechtenstein to register to vote for the upcoming 2025 National and Local Elections at the Embassy's Consular Section in Bern or during the next overseas field registration. The last day of registration is on 30 September 2024.
The overseas field registration in Zürich is the Embassy's first outreach activity for the Filipino Community in Switzerland in almost six years. The last outreach activity, which included consular services and overseas voter registration, was held on 22 September 2018 in the canton of St. Gallen. END
