The Philippine Embassy in Berne commemorated the 116th anniversary of Philippine independence with a flag ceremony and Panunumpa sa Watawat ng Pilipinas at the Embassy Chancery. The messages of President Aquino, Vice President Binay and Foreign Secretary Albert del Rosario were read during the occasion.
In the evening of 12 June, a reception was held at the Hotel Bellevue Palace in Berne, The event was attended by more than 200 people from the Diplomatic Corps, officials from the Swiss government, the business community, NGOs and leaders of various Filipino organizations.
Swiss President and Federal Councillor Didier Burkhalter also sent a congratulatory message to President Aquino extending his best wishes for the President and the Philippines. END
