FILIPINA ARTIST FEATURED IN INTERNATIONAL ART EXHIBIT IN ZURICH
The Philippine Embassy in Berne supported Filipina artist, Ms. Pamela Gotangco, as she was featured with other international artists in “Art International Zurich 2014”.
For the past 16 years Art International Zurich has brought together contemporary artists and gallery owners to provide a venue to showcase the different contemporary styles of painting, graphics, sculpture and photography.
The vernissage of the 16th annual contemporary art fair was on held 16 October at the Kongresshaus Zurich, with Embassy representatives joining Ms. Gotangco.
Ms. Gotangco graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication graduate from Miriam College, Philippines. An advocate of alternative communication through relevant artistic media, she found painting to be the most compelling.
Having started painting professionally in 2010, she characterizes her style as figurative, fun, feminine and arbitrary, oftentimes bordering socio-political arguments. Ms. Gotangco is also a proponent of equal opportunity for women, and draws insight from the role of women in our present society.
