BERN CELEBRATES THE 117TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE
PROCLAMATION OF PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENCE
23 June 2015— The Philippine Embassy in Berne celebrated the 117th anniversary of the proclamation of Philippine Independence through a Diplomatic Reception which was attended by members of the Diplomatic Corps, representatives from the Swiss Government, as well as partner institutions, and Filipino community leaders.
In his message, Ambassador Leslie J. Baja said that the Philippines looks forward to furthering its close ties with Switzerland and Liechtenstein. He also expressed gratitude to all those who have made the past four years of his tenure as Philippine Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein a most fruitful and productive time.
The diplomatic reception, held at the prestigious Hotel Bellevue in Berne, was attended by more than 200 people. The Ambassador was joined by his wife, Mrs. Noralyn Jubaira-Baja, and the Embassy personnel and their spouses.
