The Philippine Embassy in Berne supported Filipina artist, Ms. Pamela Gotangco, as she was featured with other international artists in “Farbe für die Kunst - Farbe für Ihr Leben” (Color for art - color for your life) International Art Exhibition of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Basel Art Center.
The exhibition has brought together contemporary artists in Basel from 08-10 April 2016 to provide a venue to showcase the different modern styles of painting, sculpture and photography.
Ms. Irene A. Sadang, Cultural Officer (5th from left) and Ms. Joanne E. Tecson, Asst. Cultural Officer (3rd from right), posed with the artists during the exhibit.
Ms. Gotangco graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication graduate from Miriam College, Philippines. An advocate of alternative communication through relevant artistic media, she found painting to be the most compelling.
Having started painting professionally in 2010, she characterizes her style as figurative, fun, feminine and arbitrary, oftentimes bordering socio-political arguments. Ms. Gotangco is also a proponent of equal opportunity for women, and draws insight from the role of women in our present society.
