Philippine Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein Joselito A. Jimeno was among the key resource persons from Asian Embassies in Switzerland during the executive board meeting of the Swiss-Asian Chamber of Commerce held in Zurich on 26 April 2016.
The meeting was organized by the SACC to convince more Swiss and European capitalists to invest in Asia.
Ambassador Jimeno, in his engagement with the SACC management board, promoted the Philippines as among the best business partner in Asia with its advantages of the ready human resources and high-skilled Filipino workers, business incentives, overall good governance, and the country’s wealth of natural resources.
The Ambassador likewise cited the Philippine economy’s average growth of 6.2% for the last five years, the fastest in Asia afterChina, despite a string of natural disasters including the world's deadliest typhoon.
As the Philippine economy is integrated more closely with the global and regional economy, Ambassador Jimeno said the Philippine government is redoubling investments and spending in infrastructure and connectivity to make the country more competitive.
The Ambassador likewise invited the SACC to look into the following hot sectors for foreign investors in the Philippines:
- Shipbuilding
- Business Process Outsourcing
- Renewable Energy Sources
- Mining
- Electronics Industry

The Philippine Embassy in Berne closely coordinates with the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Geneva and SACC in promoting the Philippines as an investment destination.
The Swiss-Asian Chamber of Commerce is a private organization, providing a forum for all firms, institutions, government bodies and individuals interested in the economic and business relations between Switzerland and Asia.
