Zug, 13 May 2017 – The Philippine Embassy conducted its first consular outreach for the year at St. Johannes Parish in Herti, Zug. During the outreach, the Embassy provided various consular services including passport application/renewal and replacement, notarial/authentication, civil registry and application for the retention and/or reacquisition of Philippine citizenship. The Embassy also conducted registration for overseas voting for Filipino citizens to enable them to participate in the coming national elections in the Philippines.

During the outreach, the Embassy also conducted a briefing for applicants for Philippine citizenship retention and/or reacquisition concerning their rights and entitlements, and answered questions on property ownership, inheritance, taxation, business opportunities and investing in the Philippines, as well as issues relating to name change, marriage and divorce, and privileges accorded dual citizens and foreign nationals married to Filipino nationals, among others. A briefing on the services provided by the Philippine Labor Office (POLO) was also conducted by Labor Attaché Delmer Cruz.

The outreach not only provided services to Filipinos but also to foreigners, most of whom are married to Filipino nationals, who inquired about prospects for investing in and relocating to the Philippines, acquiring Philippine passports, etc.
The Embassy also took the opportunity to inform the consular clients of the current developments in the Philippines, including the economic agenda of the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte, his anti-drug and anti-corruption campaign, and the government’s efforts to achieve inclusive growth through tax reforms, strategic infrastructure development, review of certain constitutional provisions, poverty reduction, and promotion of just and lasting peace.
