Winterthur, 03 June 2017 - The Philippine Embassy in Berne conducted a consular outreach at the Parish Hall of St. Josef Tá½…ss Church in Winterthur, canton Zürich.
During the outreach activity, the Embassy provided full consular services which included first-time passport application, renewal, replacement of loss passport, civil registry (report of birth/marriage/death), authentication/notarial services, administration of oath to applicants for the retention/reacquisition of Philippine citizenship, visas, etc.

A total of 158 consular services were delivered, including 39 applicants for overseas voting registration were received. Apart from these consular services, the Embassy also entertained queries from the public, including Swiss nationals, on issues relating to the Balikbayan privilege, taxation, immigrant visa and privileges given to immigrant visa holders, putting up businesses in the Philippines, issues relating to changes in marital status and surnames, property ownership, etc.
The outreach in canton Zürich was made possible through the support of Anak Ko Foundation and Couples for Christ-Handmaids of the Lord in Zürich. It was the second consular outreach conducted by the Embassy this year. The first was in Zug on 13th May. Consular outreach activities are conducted as part of the Embassy’s public diplomacy efforts to reach out to a wider audience and to service clients who cannot go to Berne during weekdays due to work schedules.
