The Philippine-Swiss Association (PSA) launched its first Free Basic Computer Course at the Römisch-Katholisches Pfarramt Bruder Klause in Liestal, Basel on 18 September 2017. The course aims to benefit members of the Filipino community to improve their computer skills and increase their chances of employment.
The course which will run from September until the end of November will cover topics such as Basic Introduction to Computer, Introduction to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point) and Basics of E-mailing.
The PSA led by Ms. Vivian Kiefer-Vargas has already offered several educational courses for the Filipino community (for example Swiss laws) and is planning future courses on teaching Filipino language as well as playing Banduria.
In his short message, Ambassador Joselito A. Jimeno commended the officers of PSA for their initiative in helping the members of the Filipino community through the courses they offered. He also encouraged the participants to seize similar opportunities to learn new skills and improve their lives and livelihoods. END
