08 March 2018 BERNE- The Philippine Embassy in Switzerland joined the celebration of International Women’s Day by providing “Serbisyo Para Kay Juana”- special lanes for women consular applicants. The Gender and Developmnet (GAD) Focal officer also distributed brochures on R.A. 9710, also known as the Magna Carta of Women, and small gift packs from Mama Sita to all women consular applicants.

Banner for the National Women’s Month Celebration with the theme “We Make Change Work for Women” and brochures on R.A. 9710 are displayed at the Consular Area of the Embassy from 01 to 31 March. These brochures are made available to all Consular clients of the Embassy.
The Embassy also utilizes its social media accounts (Facebook and Twitter) to celebrate the National Women’s Month by changing its cover photos, and by posting and sharing daily dose of inspirational quotes from Juana Says- DFA’s National Women’s Month social media campaign, entitled “Women of the Philippine Foreign Service”. The campaign aims to increase public awareness on the role of women in shaping the Philippine Foreign Service and will also serve as an inspiration to women and girls to serve their country.

The Embassy GAD Focal Officers also attended the Panel Discussion on Women in Displacement co-organized by the Embassy of Canada and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) on the occasion of the International Women’s Day. END
