15 June 2019 – The Philippine Embassy in Berne, in collaboration with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the Embassy’s Sentro Rizal, organized the lecture-recital on Philippine Music on 15 June 2019 in Berne.
The lecture-recital by renowned Philippine pianist, Dr. Raul Sunico, was attended by around seventy (70) Filipinos and Swiss friends of the Embassy. It discussed Philippine music, including the Kundiman, traditional instruments used in Philippine music, and known classical composers and their compositions, among others.
Dr. Raul Sunico gave a lecture-recital on Philippine music in Berne, Switzerland.
Dr. Sunico also played three (3) piano pieces during the event, including his emotional arrangement of Bayan Ko.
The lecture-recital received positive feedback from the participants, many of whom are second-generation Filipinos in Switzerland.
The Workshop is part of the Embassy’s activities held to commemorate the 121st Proclamation of Philippine Independence with the Filipino Community in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. – End
