Ambassador Denis Yap Lepatan and Madame Maria Teresa Lepatan unveil Dr. Jose Rizal’s Mi Ultimo Adios, which was engraved in brass.
19 June 2019 – In commemoration of the 158th birth anniversary of Philippine national hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal, the Philippine Embassy unveiled his last poem Mi Ultimo Adios. The poem was engraved in brass and mounted on a wall of the Embassy’ Sentro Rizal.
Three (3) of the 14-stanza poem written in Spanish were read by Madame Maria Teresa Lepatan during the simple ceremony.
The Acta de la Proclamacion de la Independencia del Pueblo Filipino takes center-stage in the exhibit that also features the Flags of the Philippine Revolution.
The event was followed by the opening of four (4) exhibits, namely: the Acta de la Proclamacion de la Independencia del Pueblo Filipino, the Flags of the Philippine Revolution, the Evolution of the Philippine Flag, and the Evolution of the Philippine National Anthem. Three exhibits were also held at the Sentro Rizal.
The exhibit on the Philippine Flag provides information on the Flags evolution.
Guests from the Filipino Community and friends of the Embassy attended the unveiling ceremony and the opening of the exhibits. - End
