Undersecretary for Policy Enrique A. Manalo held a roundtable discussion (RTD) on ASEAN with members of the Swiss think tanks on 2 July 2019 in Berne.
During the event, Undersecretary Manalo discussed various issues, including the Philippines’ priorities as Country Coordinator of the ASEAN-China Dialogue Relations, highlights of the 34th ASEAN Summit held on 20-23 June 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand, and updates on the negotiations towards the adoption of a Code of Conduct in the South China Sea.

Present during the routable discussion were Mr. Markus Herrmann and Mr. Peter Martin Freudenstein of foraus and former Swiss Ambassador Daniel Woker of Share-an-Ambassador. Also present during the briefing were Ambassador Denis Yap Lepatan, Assistant Secretary for the Office of European Affairs Amelita Aquino, Minister and Consul General Josephine M. Reynante and other officials of the Philippine Embassy in Berne and the Department of Foreign Affairs.
The roundtable discussion was held on the sidelines of the 8th Political Consultations between the Philippines and Switzerland held on 03 July 2019 in Berne, Switzerland. –end-
